How to actually get good at tower defence
Most people bounce off tower defence because they treat it like a reflex game. It isn't. The best players are the ones who pause, read the incoming wave, and place towers where enemies will spend the most time, not where it looks nice.
Learn your enemy types before your towers. A slow, armoured wave needs completely different coverage than a fast swarm. Once you can predict what's coming, you stop panic-building and start planning.
Upgrade order matters more than raw tower count. Two heavily upgraded towers at a choke point usually beat six weak ones scattered around. I lost countless waves before that finally sank in.
Finally, use the maze. On maps that let you shape the path, forcing enemies into a long winding route is the single biggest advantage you can build. It feels like cheating, but it's just good play.
